HOCOMA LOKOMAT

The Hocoma Lokomat is a state of the art medical robotic device which provides repetitive gait retraining for its clients. There are currently only 5 Lokomats in Australia that have the capacity to treat/suit both paeadiatric clients and adults. We currently have 2 Lokomats conveniently located on either side of the city – Norwood and Marion to accommodate people in all areas.

The Lokomat was initially designed with a focus on neurorehabilitation. This includes conditions such as; multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, stroke, traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries However recently the use of the Lokomat has been expanded to help with other injuries or conditions that have impacted the individual’s gait and mobility status.

There are many significant benefits for repeated Lokomat gait retraining therapy. Including:
