The girls specialise in women's health working closely with local GP's, Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Both Kylie and Jackie are highly qualified and experienced in Pilates and the practice has a fully equipped modern Pilates studio.
Whilst the practice specialises in Women's Health the team also has vast experience in treating sporting and musculoskeletal injuries and has a broad clientele that come for treatments to these type of ailments. Podiatry is also provided at PhysioXtra North Adelaide by MyPod.
Jackie Saunders (Director PhysioXtra North Adelaide)
Jackie Saunders graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2004 and has since secured Advanced Certificates in Dry Needling and is a qualified Pilates Instructor. Initially working in the hospital setting for 2 years Jackie gained valuable experience in Rehabilitation and Women's Health.
Since then Jackie has worked in Private Practice treating people with Musculoskeletal, and Sports Injuries. Jackie has worked closely with Netball, and Football Clubs, and has travelled with State Netball Teams as their Physiotherapist.
Jackie is also a Qualified Women's Health Physiotherapist. She has undertaken further education interstate to gain experience in this area. Jackie is trained in the use of Real Time Ultrasound to assess Core Muscle Strength and Pelvic floor Activation. This is used in Pre Pilates Assessments.
Both Kylie & Jackie specialize in treatments for Women during antenatal and postnatal periods, and also assist with Incontinence, Prolapse, Post Gynaelogical Surgery, Pelvic Pain and a range of other Women's Health issues. Both are trained in the use of Real Time Ultrasound to assess Core Muscle Strength and Pelvic floor Activation and work closely with a number of local GPs, Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Kylie Rankin (Director PhysioXtra North Adelaide)
Kylie Rankin graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2000 and has been a musculoskeletal, manual physiotherapist for eleven years.
Trained in Women's Health and qualified in clinical rehabilitation through DMA and the APMA, Kylie has now completed her Diploma in Pilates through Polestar Pilates International and has developed a special interest in core stability and functional correction of movement dysfunction through using the pilates method. Her expertise in this area gained her her position as a mentor to students preparing for their final exams and an Educator in the APMA South Australian Pilates Course. Kylie has also been guest lecturer in Melissa Laing's teacher course and has an ongoing relationship with North Adelaide Fitness Centre as an educator and fitness leader. She is a well-regarded Pilates Instructor in the Industry.
Kylie is trained in the use of Real Time Ultrasound and understands the importance of using this modality in addition to dynamic stabilization in achieving and facilitating functional core control.
Kylie also works closely with Professor John Svigos and his team at Women's Health Specialists. She helps women during antenatal and postnatal periods in addition to assisting and helping to treat incontinence, prolapse and a wide range of women's health issues.
Kylie's experience extends to the Fitness Industry where she practiced as an Aerobics Instructor and Personal Trainer for 15 years. Achieving her Certificate 4 in Fitness Kylie has been involved in running Education Sessions for Personal Trainers at North Adelaide Fitness Centre.
